WAYLAND OPENS WITH QUAD-MEET SWEEP: Wayland junior Jean Mbudimbu (171) pinned to seal his team's victory over host Hudson, clinching a sweep in the Warriors' season-opening quad meet.

Senior Ryan Malloy (112) won all three of his matches, pinning his opponent in two of them, and junior Jack McCullough (189) had two victories and one pin as Wayland defeated Hopkinton (51-15) and Dedham (53-18) in addition to the 33-30 win over Hudson.

For Hudson, Jimmy Downing (130), Jared Ware (152), and Hiago Fontoura (215) all swept their three matches for Hudson, which defeated Hopkinton (54-18) and Dedham (46-27), but fell to Wayland.

For Hopkinton, senior tri-captain Pete Racenis won all three of his matches at 171 as the Hillers went 1-2, beating Dedham while losing to Wayland and Hudson. Fellow senior tri-captain Tommy Karner won two matches, earning a pin over Wayland at 152 and another pin over Dedham at 160.
